Rondeau Provincial Park : Went to Rondeau Provincial Park on May 16, 2008 for a day of birding. It was considered quiet by frequent birders, but still provided a nice variety for my eyes and a couple of life birds (Red-headed Woodpecker and Northern Waterthrush).

Rattray Marsh : A nice trip out to Rattray Marsh located on the shores of lake Ontario. Steam rising off of the water in the mud flats made for a difficult task of focussing on the feeding yellowlegs, great egrets, and great blue herons. Was a very nice spot, I will definately return.

Col. Samuel Smith Park : Shots from Col. Samuel Smith Park at the base of Kipling Ave. (in Toronto, ON). Wonderful park similar to Tommy Thompson without quite the same hike in. Highlight bird seen at this location is definately the juvenile Male King Eider. Quite the rare sight in Southern Ontario.

Algonquin Park : We had the opportunity to enjoy a brief visit to Algonquin Park on July 21st. We were fortunate to see a couple of Moose and an Evening Grosbeak. A return visit on October 6th yielded a calf moose, spruce grouse, and some gray jays.

Taylor Woods : Taylor Woods is privately held land in the Kitchener area. Thanks to a most generous property owner, local birders were invited to visit and enjoy. I added Purple Finches to my life list, and got good views of a fox sparrow. Many other birds about (DE Juncos, Red-bellied WP, Downy WP, Hairy WP, Blue Jays, Crows, House Finches, Robins).

Fort Erie : Upon word of a rare Curlew Sandpiper in Fort Erie...i decided to make the trek on October 13th. 13 was apparently my lucky number because i was not disappointed. Also got the best views i have ever had for a Dunlin. Two male Kestrels, a Bonaparte's Gull and a Greater Yellowlegs rounded out the day.

Beamer Hawk Watch : Each Spring, many birders gather together to witness the hawk migration over the Niagara Escarpment through Grimsby, ON. While many of the birds fly far overhead, those travelling the vents of air up the escarpment can often pass by close to the patient photographer.
